Cell lysis is the first step in cell fractionation, organelle isolation and protein extraction and purification. Many techniques have been developed and used to obtain the best possible yield and purity for different species of organisms, sample types (cells or tissue) and target molecules or subcellular structures.

Creative BioMart provides several systems to simplify their protein isolation and purification tasks. Affinity chromatography resins are available for gravity/batch purification of proteins and antibodies. Magnetic beads are developed for immunoprecipitation and fast isolation of your targets.

Historically, physical lysis was the method of choice for cell disruption and extraction of cellular contents; however, it often requires expensive, cumbersome equipment and involves protocols that can be difficult to repeat due to variability in the apparatus. Creative BioMart can use detergent-based lysis methods to extract proteins. Detergents have both lysing and solubilizing effects.
